Lake on the CX400L

The CX400L builds on the foundation of the CX400, delivering the same race-driven carbon platform and performance fit, now with a traditional lace closure system. Built on Lake’s Race Last, it balances pro-level stiffness, stability, and anatomical support with the timeless adjustability of laces.
Please note the CX400L can not be heat molded.

Fit and build

Fit: Stable and supportive with a slightly more approachable feel than CX403. Traditional laces distribute pressure evenly across the foot, while engineered heel flex gives the shoe a more comfortable out-of-the-box fit.

Upper: Clarino® microfiber [Non-Leather] construction with strategic perforation provides a lightweight, breathable upper that resists stretch and maintains a consistent fit. The material supports immediate out-of-the-box structure while keeping the Race Last platform stable under high-cadence efforts.

Sole: The CX400L features a full carbon fiber sole engineered for stiffness where needed and controlled flex where comfort is critical. This unique construction eliminates the need for heat molding by naturally adapting to the rider’s foot shape, providing race-level power transfer with long-ride comfort straight out- of-the-box.

Closure: Traditional laces provide precise, evenly distributed tension across the instep and are easy to replace. An integrated lace keeper secures the laces neatly while maintaining a clean upper profile.
