Cycle to Work schemes we accept
We accept all the main Cycle to Work schemes: Gogeta, Green Commute Initiative (GCI), Cyclescheme, Halfords Cycle2Work, Vivup, Cycle Solutions, Bike2Work Scheme, Caboodle and Enjoy Benefits. Yes, we take Halfords Cycle2Work vouchers. Plenty of people use them with us.
If your provider is not shown here, ask us. We can usually register with them or help you find the right route. The one scheme we cannot take is Evans Cycles Ride-to-Work.
How Cycle to Work actually works
Your employer pays for the bike and kit, and you pay it back from your salary over a set period, usually 12 months. The money comes out before tax and National Insurance, so a basic rate taxpayer saves about 28%, a higher rate taxpayer about 42% and an additional rate taxpayer, earning over £125,140, about 47%.
On paper the bike is hired to you during that period. At the end, the provider either transfers it to you for a small fee or keeps the hire running at no extra cost until it can be handed over. Either way, the bike is yours to ride from day one.
Your employer needs to be signed up with a scheme provider. Most are already. If yours is not, signing up is free and takes minutes.
Why we think Gogeta is the best scheme
Most Cycle to Work providers charge the bike shop a commission for accepting their voucher. For most it is 10% of the bike price, and some take up to 15%. Gogeta charges the shop nothing.

Once the voucher is ready, we build the bike, fit the accessories and arrange collection or delivery.
Yes, you can get a cargo bike
Electric bikes, cargo bikes and family bikes can all qualify for Cycle to Work. There is no universal £1,000 limit, although your employer may set its own maximum voucher value.
We regularly supply Tern, Veloe, Muli, Bike43, Estarli and other electric bikes through Cycle to Work.
Bring the family for a test ride if you can. Our hill outside the shop is rather more useful than riding around a flat car park for three minutes.

Spend your voucher over 12 months
Gogeta’s Flexi-Voucher works a little like a tax-free gift card. You can draw down from the balance more than once during the 12-month period instead of spending the entire voucher in one go.
This can be useful if you want the bike and essential accessories now, then need more eligible equipment later in the year.

Which scheme should I ask my employer for?
Gogeta. It charges us no commission, so we can give you the best price and service, and it has no surcharges or end-of-hire fees for you. Green Commute Initiative (GCI) and Cyclescheme are also straightforward. If your employer already has a scheme in place, we take all the main Cycle to Work schemes.
Do you take Halfords Cycle2Work vouchers?
Yes. Halfords Cycle2Work vouchers can be spent with independent shops like us, and plenty of our customers use them. Just tell us when you ask for a quote.
Will I pay more because my provider charges you a fee?
Usually not. With some providers we may need to pass on part of their fee, particularly on sale bikes or special offers. If that applies to you, we will tell you before we prepare the quote, so there are no surprises.
Can I use Cycle to Work on a sale bike?
Usually, but not always. Providers charge bike shops different administration fees, so some discounted bikes or special offers cannot be combined with every scheme. Tell us which provider you are using and we will confirm the price before preparing the quote.
Do I need to choose the bike before applying?
Ideally, yes. Come and test ride the bikes first, then we can prepare an accurate quote for the bike and complete accessory setup.
How long does approval take?
It depends on your employer and provider. Some vouchers are approved quickly, while others take a few weeks. We cannot release the bike until the voucher has been approved and redeemed.
Can I take the bike before the voucher arrives?
Please speak to us first. It may be possible in some circumstances, but it must be agreed in advance and payment charges may apply.
What if my employer has a spending limit?
We can help you work within it. Your employer may also be able to increase the limit, particularly if you are buying an electric or cargo bike.
When do I own the bike?
Cycle to Work normally begins as a hire agreement. End-of-agreement and ownership arrangements vary between providers, so check the terms offered by your employer before applying.
Can you deliver the bike?
Yes. We can arrange local or UK delivery for many bikes. Delivery can be added to the quote where the scheme permits it.
