Description
The Belter 16 has 16″ wheels and a belt drive instead of a chain, for children around 4 to 6 years with an inside leg of at least 45 cm. Early Rider call it the world’s best-selling belt drive bike. It weighs 5.7 kg without pedals, with Tektro brakes on short-reach levers, sealed bearing wheels and grippy 2.0″ Schwalbe Billy Bonkers tyres.
Early Rider make the coolest kids’ bikes around. We love the belt drive for zero mess: no oily chain, nothing black on the school trousers. And it comes at a great price too, as a belt drive usually adds about £300 to the cost of any bike. They ride beautifully as well. They are iconic in brushed silver, but the new colours look great. Gav (shop owner)’s own daughter rides one and loves it on the BMX track.
£30 off brushed silver: we have three Belter 16s in brushed silver in the shop now at £469 instead of £499.
Every kids’ bike we sell is properly set up and ready to go, which is worth £50. No building needed: turn up and ride away. They get the memory of buying their new bike from a bike shop, and you don’t spend the evening swearing at a box and fiddling with hex keys.
Come and try one for size at Butternut Bikes in Crouch End, or call 020 8347 5534. Colours we don’t have in the shop are ordered in from Early Rider UK for you.
