Lake have made winter cycling boots longer than almost anyone. We can order any current Lake winter boot in any size from Lake UK. Lake suggest going up a size for winter socks, so if you are not sure, come in and try a pair on first.

Lake on the CX146

Cold and wet training rides do not have to be miserable anymore. The CX146 is the answer for those fall or spring chilly road rides. Developed for mild, damp weather, the CX146 is just the right shoe for those days when your race shoes are not warm enough.
Sizing Suggestion: For use with winter weight socks we recommend ordering 1-1.5 sizes up from your usual Lake Cycling shoe size.

Fit and build

Fit: Road winter fit with the same balanced Sport Last foundation as MX146. It feels stable and familiar for riders coming from traditional cycling shoes, with added cold-weather structure around the upper.

Upper: Softshell fabric, water-resistant Clarino® microfiber [Non-Leather], 200g Thinsulate™ insulation, and a seam-taped membrane create a stable cold-weather upper. A DWR treatment helps resist road spray and light rain and should be reapplied as needed.

Sole: Lake’s road-specific sole platform gives the CX146 efficient pedaling support for wet-weather winter riding. The 3-hole cleat pattern supports standard road pedal systems, while the outsole structure provides stability under load and controlled flex for comfort on longer rides.

Closure: A tongue-mounted Mid Power BOA® M4 dial with Click-Fit quick release enables secure, glove-friendly adjustment in challenging conditions. The cartridge-mounted design provides closure strength and durability for cold and wet environments, while evenly distributing pressure across the upper for comfort. Cold/Wet Conditions Microfiber uppers typically feel more snug than leather and retain their shape with less stretch through use.
