The all-new CX178 delivers modern performance with an emphasis on anatomical efficiency and everyday comfort. Built on a redesigned last featuring a broader toe box, it supports natural toe splay and reduces compression for improved stability, alignment, and long-distance comfort. Combined with Lake’s proven nylon composite sole and a lightweight microfiber upper, the CX178 balances adjustability, breathability, and durability, making it a versatile option for both casual and competitive riders.

Fit and build

Fit: Secure through the midfoot and heel, with more natural toe alignment up front. The Sport Comfort Last gives riders added forefoot room and straighter toe positioning while keeping a stable road feel.

Upper: Durable microfiber [Non-Leather] construction supports a clean, low- maintenance upper with consistent fit retention. The pattern works with the Sport Comfort Last to add usable forefoot room while maintaining secure midfoot and heel support.

Sole: Lake’s nylon composite road sole provides efficient pedaling support with controlled flex for all-day comfort. Extended cleat rail adjustment allows riders to fine-tune cleat position, while sole ventilation channels improve airflow and oversized heel and toe pads add off-bike traction and durability.

Closure: A single BOA® L6 dial provides fast, micro- adjustable tension across the midfoot. The system ensures even pressure distribution and quick entry/exit while keeping weight low.
