Description
The R14 is the top of the GSD range. It has ABS like the S10 and a belt like the P00, plus Rohloff E-14 electronic hub gears, which shift at the press of a button and drop to an easier gear by themselves when you stop. It also comes with the bigger 800Wh battery.

Who buys one
We tend to sell the R14 to people who just want the best bike for carrying a kid or two kids on, and we think that is what this is: the best bike in the world for it.
The others are people who have owned a GSD or an HSD before. They know they love these bikes and that they’re going to use the next one again and again, so they’re prepared to invest in the best one.
It’s £2,950 more than an S10, and it carries exactly the same. What you’re paying for is the Rohloff hub, the belt and the bigger battery.
The Rohloff and the belt
- Fourteen gears in a sealed hub, with a huge range
- Change gear while you’re stopped, which matters at the school gates
- No derailleur to bend or knock out of line
- Far less servicing, and quiet in all weathers
The ABS
Like the S10, the R14 comes with Bosch ABS on the front wheel. We’ve ridden these bikes a lot, fully loaded, and ABS changes how confidently you can ride and brake. It helps stop the front wheel locking up, so you keep steering control when braking hard, especially on wet roads, steep descents or loose surfaces. It’s one of those features that sounds like a gimmick until you’ve ridden it properly. Once you have, it’s hard to go back.
