Description
Lake make cycling shoes around the shape of your foot rather than a single average. Most of their off-road shoes come in more than one width, and we can order any current Lake shoe in any size and width from Lake UK. If you are between sizes or have wide feet, come in and try a pair on first.
Lake on the MX239 Gravel
The MX239 Gravel is the latest version of our most popular gravel biking shoe for adventure seekers . This new evolution of our legendary MX238 Gravel is now updated to include an integrated tongue to the medial panel of the upper for a firmer foot hold, ensuring that power is maximized into forward momentum through improved stability.
The MX239 Gravel comes with a new fiberglass reinforced internal heel counter, creating a more stable heel hold, and has more spacing between the two BOA® dials to give greater zone adjustment to the forefoot area. It takes one of our favorite off-road adventure cycling shoes to a whole new level of comfort, fit and performance, with modern styling as standard. Add to this the Mountain Race X real rubber sole, and you have a gravel biking shoe to take on any challenge.
- Gravel-focused version of the MX239 platform
- Lower-profile rubber coverage reduces weight for long, pedal-heavy rides
- Secure Competition Last fit with off-bike traction where needed
Fit and build
Fit: Same secure Competition Last feel as MX239, tuned for longer gravel efforts. It gives more top-of-foot hold than segmented models while the lighter gravel sole keeps the ride feel more efficient and less bulky.
Upper: Clarino® microfiber [Non-Leather] or recycled leather upper construction provides structure, durability, and consistent fit retention. The integrated tongue panel connects into the medial side of the upper for firmer foot hold, while mesh areas and Outlast® heel lining support comfort during long gravel rides.
Sole: Lake’s Competition 100% Carbon Fiber Sole pairs efficient power transfer with a Mountain Race X real rubber outsole. Strategically placed tread zones provide lightweight traction and stability on gravel roads and light terrain while reducing outsole bulk.
Closure: Dual BOA® Li2 dials provide low-profile, micro-adjustable fit control across the upper. Wider dial spacing improves zone adjustment through the forefoot and instep, helping riders fine- tune tension for secure foot hold over longer mixed-surface efforts.
