Lake have made winter cycling boots longer than almost anyone. We can order any current Lake winter boot in any size from Lake UK. Lake suggest going up a size for winter socks, so if you are not sure, come in and try a pair on first.

Lake on the MX146

Developed for fall, spring, mild winters and damp weather, the MX146 is just the right shoe for those days when your race shoes are too cold or winter boots are too warm. Fat bike, commuting, cyclocross, you name it, the MX146 is up for it.
Please note that sizes 36-38 do not accept toe spikes
Sizing Suggestion: For use with winter weight socks we recommend ordering 1-1.5 sizes up from your usual Lake Cycling shoe size.

Fit and build

Fit: Balanced Sport Last winter fit with a familiar cycling-shoe shape. It offers more everyday comfort than race-oriented models while keeping the foot supported for cold gravel, trail, and commuting conditions.

Upper: Softshell fabric, water-resistant Clarino® microfiber [Non-Leather], 200g Thinsulate™ insulation, and a seam-taped membrane create a stable cold-weather upper. A DWR treatment helps resist road spray and light rain and should be reapplied as needed.

Sole: The MX146 uses Lake’s Supergrip Enduro sole, featuring a fiberglass- injected nylon midsole paired with a real rubber outsole for all-day performance. Ice Lock™ tread inserts with vertically injected micro-glass fibers provide traction on slick, wet, or icy surfaces. SPD compatibility ensures efficient pedaling, while the tread design offers stability and grip off the bike.

Closure: A tongue-mounted Mid Power BOA® M4 dial with Click-Fit quick release enables secure, glove-friendly adjustment in challenging conditions. The cartridge-mounted design provides closure strength and durability for cold and wet environments, while evenly distributing pressure across the upper for comfort.
