Description
The Belter 14 has 14″ wheels and a belt drive instead of a chain, for children around 3 to 5 years. The standover height is 37 cm, so they need an inside leg of at least that. It weighs 5.4 kg without pedals, with Tektro brakes on short-reach levers for small hands, sealed bearing wheels and chunky 1.75″ Kenda tyres.
Early Rider make the coolest kids’ bikes around. We love the belt drive for zero mess: no oily chain, nothing black on the school trousers. And it comes at a great price too, as a belt drive usually adds about £300 to the cost of any bike. They ride beautifully as well. They are iconic in brushed silver, but the new colours look great. Gav (shop owner)’s own daughter rides one and loves it on the BMX track.
