Description
The Seeker 14 is a little mountain bike with 14″ wheels, for children around 3 to 5 years. The standover height is 37 cm. It has one gear and short 80 mm cranks for easy pedalling, Crux hydraulic disc brakes on short-reach levers, bolt-through axles and fat 2.25″ Kenda Booster tyres for grip. It weighs 5.9 kg without pedals.
Early Rider make the coolest kids’ bikes around, and they ride beautifully. As you go up the range the mountain bikes look really rad, and the Seeker is where that starts: hydraulic disc brakes, fat grippy tyres and proper trail geometry, all sized for small riders. They are iconic in brushed silver, but the new colours look great. Gav (shop owner)’s own daughter rides an Early Rider and loves it on the BMX track.
If it will mostly be pavements and the school run, have a look at the Belter 14: a belt instead of a chain, so zero mess, and £100 less.
Every kids’ bike we sell is properly set up and ready to go, which is worth £50. No building needed: turn up and ride away. They get the memory of buying their new bike from a bike shop, and you don’t spend the evening swearing at a box and fiddling with hex keys.
Come and try one for size at Butternut Bikes in Crouch End, or call 020 8347 5534. Colours we don’t have in the shop are ordered in from Early Rider UK for you.
