Description
The Charger 16 is Early Rider’s new 16″ trail bike, and it replaces the Seeker X16 at the same price. If you were looking for a Seeker X16, this is the one to have now. It is a proper little hardtail for children around 4 to 6 years with an inside leg of at least 44.5 cm: an RST F1RST air suspension fork with 60 mm of travel, Crux hydraulic disc brakes on short-reach levers, bolt-through axles and 2.25″ Kenda Booster tyres. It has one gear with 90 mm cranks, and the frame is ready for gears later. It weighs 7 kg without pedals.
Early Rider make the coolest kids’ bikes around, and they ride beautifully. As you go up the range the mountain bikes look really rad, and the Charger is the proper trail bike of the family: an air suspension fork, hydraulic disc brakes and trail geometry, all sized for kids. They are iconic in brushed silver, but the new colours look great. Gav (shop owner)’s own daughter rides an Early Rider and loves it on the BMX track.
Not sure they need suspension yet? The Seeker 16 has the same hydraulic brakes and fat tyres with a rigid fork, for £250 less.
Every kids’ bike we sell is properly set up and ready to go, which is worth £50. No building needed: turn up and ride away. They get the memory of buying their new bike from a bike shop, and you don’t spend the evening swearing at a box and fiddling with hex keys.
Come and try one for size at Butternut Bikes in Crouch End, or call 020 8347 5534. Colours we don’t have in the shop are ordered in from Early Rider UK for you.
