Description
The Charger 24 is Early Rider’s new 24″ trail bike, and it replaces the Seeker X24 at the same price. If you were looking for a Seeker X24, this is the one to have now. It is built for children around 8 to 11 years who are serious about mountain biking: an RST air suspension fork with 120 mm of travel, a Shimano CUES 10-speed shifter with a Deore rear mech, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm rotors and 2.35″ Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres. It weighs 11.5 kg without pedals.
Early Rider make the coolest kids’ bikes around, and they ride beautifully. As you go up the range the mountain bikes look really rad, and the Charger is the proper trail bike of the family: an air suspension fork, hydraulic disc brakes and trail geometry, all sized for kids. They are iconic in brushed silver, but the new colours look great. Gav (shop owner)’s own daughter rides an Early Rider and loves it on the BMX track.
Not sure they need suspension yet? The Seeker 24 has hydraulic disc brakes and 9 gears with a rigid fork, for £450 less. For full suspension, see the Hellion X24.
Every kids’ bike we sell is properly set up and ready to go, which is worth £50. No building needed: turn up and ride away. They get the memory of buying their new bike from a bike shop, and you don’t spend the evening swearing at a box and fiddling with hex keys.
Come and try one for size at Butternut Bikes in Crouch End, or call 020 8347 5534. Colours we don’t have in the shop are ordered in from Early Rider UK for you.
