Description
The Seeker 24 has 24″ wheels and a Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain with a light trigger shifter, for children around 8 to 11 years with an inside leg of at least 63 cm. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm rotors do the stopping, on tubeless-ready rims with 2.35″ Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres. It weighs 10.3 kg without pedals.
Early Rider make the coolest kids’ bikes around, and they ride beautifully. As you go up the range the mountain bikes look really rad, and the Seeker is where that starts: hydraulic disc brakes, fat grippy tyres and proper trail geometry, all sized for small riders. They are iconic in brushed silver, but the new colours look great. Gav (shop owner)’s own daughter rides an Early Rider and loves it on the BMX track.
If it will mostly be roads and the school run, have a look at the Belter 24: a belt instead of a chain, so zero mess, with 8-speed hub gears sealed inside the back wheel.
Every kids’ bike we sell is properly set up and ready to go, which is worth £50. No building needed: turn up and ride away. They get the memory of buying their new bike from a bike shop, and you don’t spend the evening swearing at a box and fiddling with hex keys.
Come and try one for size at Butternut Bikes in Crouch End, or call 020 8347 5534. Colours we don’t have in the shop are ordered in from Early Rider UK for you.
