Tern Electric Bikes in Stock and Ready to Ride

We’re an official Tern Platinum dealer in Crouch End, North London. Tern make properly thought-through bikes for real city life, school runs, hills, shopping, commuting, all the stuff that normally involves a car.

We keep bikes in stock for proper test rides. If you can’t see the exact model on the site, just ask. We can order any current Tern, and we usually have GSD, Quick Haul Long, HSD and Vektron available to ride or buy.

All Tern bikes are available through Cycle to Work, saving you 42-47% if you’re a higher rate taxpayer.

Tern GSD Gen 3 Electric Cargo Bike

Tern GSD Gen 3

This is the big one. The longtail that carries two kids, loads of bags, and still rides like a normal bike. Bosch Cargo Line motor, huge carrying capacity, and accessories for just about every family scenario going.

Gen 3 comes in four versions:

  • R14, Rohloff hub gears, belt drive, ABS, 800Wh battery, £8,900
  • S10, Bosch Smart System, Shimano Deore, ABS, £5,900
  • P00, Bosch Smart System, Enviolo hub, belt drive, £5,900
  • P10, Bosch (non Smart System), entry price, £4,700

ABS, sounds gimmicky, isn’t

We were sceptical about Bosch ABS at first. Thought it might be one of those things you show customers once then never think about again.

It’s not.

It genuinely makes the bike feel calmer and more planted, especially when you’re braking hard with kids on the back. You can grab a handful of brake without that little panic about the front wheel washing out. We’ve ridden it loads and we’ve got a great test loop right outside the shop, including a bit of gravel, where you can really feel what it’s doing.

ABS is fitted to the GSD S10 and GSD R14.

GSD Gen 3 comparison

Model System Battery Gearing Drive ABS Price
R14 Bosch Smart System 800Wh Rohloff E-14 Belt Yes £8,900
S10 Bosch Smart System 545Wh Shimano Deore Chain Yes £5,900
P00 Bosch Smart System 545Wh Enviolo Hub Belt No £5,900
P10 Bosch (non Smart System) 500Wh Derailleur Chain No £4,700

Tern Quick Haul Long

Tern Quick Haul Long

Think of this as the lighter, simpler longtail. Still carries two kids, still Bosch powered, just not quite as tank-like as the GSD. Good choice if the GSD feels like more bike than you need.

Tern HSD Electric Cargo Bike

Tern HSD

Shorter than a GSD, easier to store, but still very capable. Works well if you’re carrying one child or doing a mix of commuting and cargo. The P10 is currently on sale.

Tern Orox S12 Adventure Cargo Bike

Tern Orox, Adventure Cargo Bike

Something a bit different. The Orox is a heavy-duty adventure cargo bike built to go anywhere. Bosch CX motor with 85Nm of torque, 4-piston hydraulic brakes, and a frame certified to carry 210kg on-road. It handles kids, cargo, and proper off-road terrain with equal composure. The S12 is currently on special offer.

Tern Vektron Gen 4 Folding Electric Bike

Tern Vektron Gen 4, Folding Electric Bike

The Vektron folds in 10 seconds and takes a Bosch motor. Brilliant for mixed commutes, train, tube, office, ride home. Two versions of the Gen 4:

Tern Verge Performance Folding Bike

Tern Verge, Performance Folding Bike

Non-electric, 451 wheels, rides like a proper road bike but folds small enough to go under a desk or in a train luggage rack. Four models from entry level to full performance:

Tern BYB Ultra-Compact Folding Bike

Tern BYB, Ultra-Compact Folding Bike

The BYB folds about 30% smaller than a standard 20″ folding bike. Fits in a locker, the boot of a small car, or genuinely under a train seat. One electric version, one acoustic:

Book a test ride

Ride a couple back to back and it becomes obvious pretty quickly which one suits you. We’ve got a great test loop right outside the shop, including a proper hill.

As you know, we love getting people out and about on bikes, and what could be better to navigate the hills of North London than an electric bike? The Tern bike range is proving super popular, particularly amongst people who want to take a passenger (or two!).

We normally have at least a couple of models in stock, the most popular is the Tern GSD which can take two kids on the back (or and adult and a child), and makes light work of hills, yes, even Muswell Hill and up to Highgate!

If you’d like to find out more, just drop us a line, or pop in and see us 🙂

To find out more details about the Tern bicycle range, you can of course contact us, or you can view all the specs on the Tern website. Click here.
